The purpose of e-mail is to send a message to another person / people instantly. It is a lot quicker than sending an actual letter and you can include attachments so that you can send images / music as well.

However there are consequences of sending e-mails; for instance viruses can be easily picked up and passed onto the reciepent(s).

E-mail
E-mail is an electronic message sent from one device to another, it is extremely quick and can happen anytime during the day. There are many ways of sending and recieving e-mails; usually it is sent from computer to computer,but now it can be sent and received by mobile phones and PDAs etc. By using e-mail you can sendmessages but you can also send photos / music / video clips / etc.

How e-mail works
An e-mail passes from a mail server (computer), to another as it travels over the Internet. When it arrives at the mail server, it is stored in an electronic mailbox until the recipient retrieves it.

I frequently go on itunes & limewire to keep me upto date on music.

I always do online banking with Halifax and grocery shopping, as i am very lazy. I occasionly shop online. This is usually if i cant get down to the store i.e. Louis Vuitton / Gucci etc.

I usually pick up books / dvds etc from either play.com or hmv.co.uk. I like looking for bargains and for that i shop on ebay!
